Behind the Design
For many of us in Singapore, we are filled with nostalgia and fond memories when we think of mama shops. Contrary to popular belief, the ‘mama’ in mama shop is in fact derived from the Tamil word “mamak”, which means uncle or elder.

This design takes inspiration from this unique Singaporean icon, and features visuals of popular toys and snacks back in the past – such as toy capsule machines, gem biscuits, and ice lollies.
